Burke Hospice & Palliative Care (BHPC) has been serving patients and families experiencing a terminal illness for over 30 years. The Burke Hospice Care Team offers and provides quality, compassionate, and clinically sound expertise during a time when, perhaps, it is needed most. Through the inter-professional process, led by Dr. Leon Goudas, Medical Director, patients and families receive care through the holistic approach hospice embraces.
The Hospice Philosophy is a concept of care that provides a focus on quality versus quantity when someone if diagnosed with a life-limiting prognosis of six months or less. Adaptation of quality denotes the idea that a team of experts in end-of-life (EOL) care surround both patient and family in effort to put in to place those measures that facilitate, propel, and catalyze quality of life as the patient views it to be.
Burke Hospice boasts a beautifully appointed, home-like 14 private room inpatient facility designed to accommodate patients in need of aggressive symptom management that, otherwise, can not be managed in their home setting. In addition, patients have enjoyed a five (5) night Respite stay at the inpatient unit, which is offered in order to provide relief for caregivers.
Care, compassion, dignity and clinical excellence during a time when it is, perhaps, needed most help to form the foundation of the hospice philosophy and our respective practice as Burke Hospice seeks to provide service excellence to patients and their families.
